The short version

AlienKind runs on your machine. Your identity files, memory, corrections, and conversations stay on your machine. We don't collect them, we don't transmit them, and we don't have access to them.

What AlienKind is

AlienKind is open-source software (Apache 2.0) that you install locally. It creates an AI partnership architecture on your computer using identity files, behavioral hooks, and memory systems that persist across sessions. All of this runs locally in your environment.

What we don't collect

  • Your identity kernel files (character, commitments, orientation)
  • Your daily memory files or conversation logs
  • Your corrections, learning ledger, or behavioral data
  • Your API keys, credentials, or configuration
  • Any telemetry, analytics, or usage data from the plugin or CLI

AlienKind has no telemetry. No analytics. No phone-home. The software runs entirely in your local environment.

Third-party services you choose to connect

AlienKind optionally integrates with services you configure yourself:

  • LLM providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Ollama, etc.) — Your prompts and responses flow between your machine and the provider you choose. Each provider has its own privacy policy. AlienKind does not intermediate, log, or store these communications.
  • Supabase (optional) — If you connect a Supabase project for persistent memory, your data is stored in your own Supabase project under your own account. AlienKind does not have access to your Supabase instance.

The alienkind.ai website

This website (alienkind.ai) is a static marketing site hosted on Vercel. It does not use cookies for tracking. It does not collect personal information. The site exists to point you at the open-source repository.

Claude Code integration

When you use AlienKind with Claude Code as your substrate, the hooks and configuration in the repo's .claude/ directory run locally on your machine via Claude Code's native hook system. Nothing transmits to AlienKind or any third party. Updates come via standard git pull.

Data ownership

Everything you create with AlienKind — your partner's identity, your corrections, your memory files, your configuration — belongs to you. It lives on your machine or in services you control. If you delete AlienKind, your data stays where it is (your filesystem, your Supabase project) until you choose to delete it.

Open source transparency

AlienKind is open source under the Apache 2.0 license. You can inspect every line of code that runs on your machine at github.com/jonmayo7/alienkind. There is no obfuscated code, no hidden network calls, no binary blobs.
